“The thud sublime…” a restless communion of sound, word and visuals unfolds in Glyconic – live at The Substation.

Peter Sismanes’ electronic compositions trace a parallel arc: from the delicate intricacies of IDM to the propulsion of 120 BPM club forms. The production inhabits both polish and grit, a space where imperfections become character.

Nic Steyger’s poems give voice to the rhythm of thought and feeling, written to be spoken aloud and carried by sound. Their live performance brings the words into sharp relief, not as recitation but as presence — urgent, raw, and searching.

Together, these works are re-imagined live by Glyconic, a collective of musicians who fold poetry and music into one restless body. Live film and visual elements expand the stage further, a site of communion — part performance, part ritual, a shared experiment.
