Registrations for artists of all kinds to participate in The Substation Art Sale 2025, our end of year fundraising exhibition, are now open.
This year we are opening up an EOI to connect with artists in our community who we are currently not connected with. Artists are invited to share in the success of The Substation Art Sale by contributing a saleable work. Feel welcome to contact The Substation via email or over the phone should you have any questions about participating in The Substation Art Sale 2025.
If your practice extends beyond the visual arts, we would love to hear from you! We encourage nonconventional approaches to considering what an ‘Art Sale’ may be, and welcome contributions from artists working in, but not limited to, dance, performance, theatre or sound.

The Substation Art Sale returns in 2025 to The Substation Galleries and online. Offering a unique opportunity for multi-artform artists to sell work, The Substation Art Sale also raises funds to support our year-round commissioning program of exhibitions, performances and public programs. At The Substation we celebrate art in every form, and for our 2025 Art Sale we welcome contributions from artists working in any and every discipline – from experimental sound, and dance, to visual arts and performance. Our multidisciplinary art form focus is what makes The Substation Art Sale unique, and will be a key point of celebration in our 2025 Art Sale.
- In 2023, The Substation supported and exhibited the work of over 56 artists, producers and partners, with over $15,500 landing directly in artists’ pockets.
- In 2024, The Substation supported and exhibited the work of over 60 artists, producers and partners, raising a total of $40,000 – with more than $22,000 going directly back into artists' pockets. Exceeding our 2023 figures, in total funds raised, and number of artists supported

If your practice extends beyond the visual arts, we would love to hear from you! We encourage non-conventional approaches to considering what an ‘Art Sale’ may be, and welcome contributions from artists working in, but not limited to, dance, performance, theatre or sound.
For example: A dance or performance practitioner may wish to contribute a workshop, mentoring session, coaching, or an intimate bespoke performance. Sound practitioners may wish to contribute a custom sound piece created in collaboration with a buyer, or offer a recording of an album or soundscape. Photographers may wish to offer a portrait session instead of prints.

- Art Sale Registration Opens Wednesday 24 September, 9am
- Art Sale Registration Closes Wednesday 15 October, 11:59pm
- Artwork Drop Off is available on the following Saturdays only 11am - 5pm:
- Saturday 04 October
- Saturday 11 October
- Saturday 18 October
- Saturday 25 October
- Saturday 01 November
- Saturday 08 November
- NOTE: all artworks must be received at The Substation by Saturday 08 November, 5pm. If you need to organise an artwork delivery outside the times listed above please contact fundraising@thesubstation.org.au. This year The Substation will not reimburse artists for the cost of postage or courier deliveries.
- Digital Campaign Launch: Monday 17 November, 9am
- Exhibition: Monday 24 November – Saturday 29 November 11am - 5pm
- Exhibition Closing celebration: Saturday 29 November, 4pm - 6pm
- Exhibition final day: Saturday 29 November, 5pm

- Exhibition deinstall and Artwork Collection: Monday 01 December – Friday 19 December, 10am - 5pm
