PRESENTED BY THE SUBSTATION, ROOM40 AND LIQUID ARCHITECTURE
Join us for an evening of eclectic sound and acoustic exploration as we welcome Japan based artist Aki Onda, Italian musician Fabio Perletta, and Bangkok/Naarm artist Siri Sirasith to The Substation stage.
Onda is renowned for his cross-disciplinary work in art, film, and performance, and has collaborated with artists such as Michael Snow and Loren Connors and presented at MoMA, the Louvre, and documenta 14. His acclaimed series of works, Cassette Memories, transforms three decades of field recordings into evocative sound atmospheres exploring personal and collective memory.
Fabio Perletta’s work investigates the delicate balance between presence and space, silence and noise, inspired by microbiology, quantum physics, and Zen practices. Featured at the Venice Biennale and venues such as London's Café OTO, his performances create immersive auditory experiences that blur the lines between material and immaterial.
Siri Sirasith (Bangkok/Naarm) is an emerging artist in the 'outer club' scene, who uses modular synthesis to make music on the edge of perception, where hyper-detailed sonic gestures morph into uncanny, tactile environments. Drawing from esoteric timbres and microtonal swells, Sirasith crafts singular, unplaceable soundscapes that haunt and intrigue.
