EXPERIMENTAL CLUB NIGHT/

NIGHT SWEATS is a new experimental club night curated and presented by The Substation, taking over the entire building with a program of DJs, pop-up performances, art installations and participatory experiences.

We are seeking artists who push against limits, disrupt expectations and create works that f*ck around and find out.

FIRST NATIONS CURATORIAL OPPORTUNITY/

The Substation is seeking exhibition proposals from Victoria-based early to mid-career Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander curators to develop and present a bold and experimental exhibition for The Substation Galleries in May-August 2027.

EXPERIMENTAL DANCE PROGRAM/

The Substation invites independent dance artists and collectives to submit an Expression of Interest for FLEX, our new 2027 Experimental Dance Program.

We are seeking experimental and contemporary dance works that explore new choreographic ideas, movement practices and approaches to performance.

RESIDENT OPPORTUNITY/

The Substation is seeking Expressions of Interest from Victorian-based companies and organisations working within the creative sector to join our community of Residents. We currently have one studio available, offering an opportunity to become part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary creative environment in Melbourne’s west.

SPACE AT SHORT NOTICE/

Space at Short Notice provides artists with access to The Substation’s spaces for rehearsals, workshops and meetings at no cost, when spaces become available at short notice.

This initiative is designed to support artists who need flexible access to space and are looking for occasional, short-term use of The Substation’s facilities. It is not intended for ongoing, recurring or long-term bookings.
