A celebration of life in all its stages, Prime Time challenges our assumptions and expectations about age and ageing. A new intergenerational work featuring a diverse cast of 14 aged between 4 and 93. Prime Time interrogates the relationship between age, power, visibility, and value, forging new dialogues across generations through personal stories and diverse perspectives across each decade of life.
Prime Time experiments with the intersections of theatre, dance, live and recorded text, sound composition and visual design. Evolving since April 2023, Prime Time is a west-based project. The work draws on multiple recorded interviews from community members spanning 10 decades, gathered during a 3-week artist residency at Braybrook Community Hub, 4 research/casting workshops in Footscray, engaging 170 community members and artists, and a creative team of 9 artists over the process.
