A radio-based live performance inviting you on a journey through suburban streets and into the dark.

The above show end times are approximate - depending on your walking pace.

Presented by The Substation and Melbourne Fringe Festival

It’s nighttime. You receive an address to a local residence. You listen to a mysterious radio broadcast – it seems to be talking to you. The transmission draws you towards unknown destinations – weaving through the streets of Newport and inward to the soul of the night. Transmission – into the dark invites audiences to embark on a nocturnal journey that interweaves site-specific radio, installation, night-walking and the sky. A night where the strange is real and the real is strange.

Transmission – into the dark commences at a residential address in Newport. All attendees are asked to supply their email and phone number upon booking their tickets. Ticket holders will receive an email prior to their booked session with further details and the local address. Please note that ticket sales will close three hours before each performance time.
