The Substation/​ Artist/​Joel Stern/

Joel Stern is a Naarm/Melbourne-based artist and researcher working across experimental music, sound art and live media performance. His practice explores politics and poetics of listening through synthesis, voice and generative systems. He directed Liquid Architecture from 2013–2022, and performs internationally through solo work and projects including Machine Listening and Sky Needle. He is a lecturer in Media and Communication at RMIT University.
