Our Residents initiative provides ongoing subsidised, long-term studio space for artists and organisations, as well as access to rehearsal and development spaces. We are proud to work with the range of multidisciplinary and independent artists and organisations currently in residence as a part of this initiative.

Our In Development program supports artists in the creation and development of new works. Through this initiative, we offer studio space to local artists and extensive digital resources for those located interstate or overseas.

Rather than existing in a written manifesto, The Substation’s ethos and practice is brought to life through the artists we work with, both locally and internationally. Our program is continually enriched by these collaborations, in particular through our Residents and In Development initiatives.
