Over the past 13 years Stable Music Co. has brought some of the most forward-thinking direction in sound, design and installations to Australia. From the Red Bull Music Academy, Kubik Melbourne and Where?House to over 10 years of club events and working with major festivals. What began as a group of like-minded music producers has evolved into a production house, sound studio, record label, artist agency and so much more.

For Stable there is neither inside or outside the box, music is music and it's as simple as that. Open source and genre-free are our biggest assets and we always strive to explore new experiences whenever possible.

Composition with Ben Cromack/ Nina Buchanan

Composition takes you closer to the method in which a performance is made. From track selection to on the fly edits, the artists will demonstrate how they create syncopated rhythms from completely unrelated music. A new experience from The Substation and Stable Music, which take you inside live electronic composition.

Ben Cromack’s musical influence stems from the Hip-Hop classics we all grew up with like Run DMC, Public Enemy & E.P.M.D right through to the other side of the scale, Punk & Metal. Listening to the likes of Sepultura and Dead Kennedy’s paved the way for his ears to handle the heavy frequency of 90’s techno. His precise mixing and layering of tracks on 3 decks is a marvel to watch and has left many a punter and fellow DJ awestruck.

Renowned for her powerful live performances, Nina Buchanan’s elemental, intuitive approach to club music wades through lush melodic synth lines, thumping rhythms and atmospheric soundscapes. She has released two EPs, Sunk and Highly Emotional, with a debut album in the works. Buchanan’s composition work includes commissions for MONA FOMA, Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ, ACCA, ABC Arts, and Campbelltown Arts Centre.
