We are looking for our next CEO: Is it you? Or somebody you know?/
It’s an exciting time to be taking on the leadership of The Substation. After the successful transformation of the past seven years, the foundation is set for the next era of deepening engagement and impact.
With thanks to a long-term funding relationships with Hobsons Bay City Council and Creative Victoria, philanthropist support, and its first four-year investment from the Australia Council for the Arts, the Substation is now embedding protype initiatives tested over the past few years to continue to grow.
The concept of the Curators at Large has now evolved into a new programming structure to strengthen artistic inputs and increase inclusion and commitment to refreshing diverse practice and representation.
The organisational structure has been reset creating an uplift of resourcing. The venue’s connection with its locality also has the potential to be enhanced with insights from the Community Reference Group.
The strategic vision of the organisation remains committed to experimentation and the value of collective curation, and the new CEO will have the benefit of a refreshed 4-year strategic plan that adapts to the changed arts and local context to help guide and drive the next wave of activity.
In addition to the team’s expertise and energy, resident artists and producers at The Substation have reclaimed their spaces after pandemic interruptions and continue to help realise the venue’s capacity as a hub for creative and idea exchange.
Is the job for you? Or somebody you know?
The recruitment of this role is being conducted by Tony Grierson of AEGEUS Executive Search.
