Exofilla by Traianos Pakioufakis is a new outdoor exhibition at The Substation.

Photographer and art director Traianos Pakioufakis is well known for arranging photographs on the inner pages of publications, and the covers of albums and books. Exofilla further explores Pakioufakis' interest in the page itself: how the image sits within assigned margins, often creating a secondary composition by accounting for negative space or the constrained proportions of a particular medium. Even in a digital realm, Pakioufakis' works often appear bound to a physical space or secondary material.

Translated directly from Greek, exofilla means "front covers" but also literally "outer leaves."

Exofilla includes six photographs made between 2008 and 2019 in Athens, Waroona, Sydney, Chania, Los Angeles and Palermo.

Exofilla
is an outdoor exhibition made available to the residents of Newport and surrounding suburbs. Please review the latest COVIDSafe Settings before visiting The Substation.
