The Substation/ Artist/pvi collective /
pvi collective create performances, videos and interventions that invite genuine engagement from audiences and members of the public. They are committed to ensuring that they experience seriously fun artworks that negotiate difficult issues in provocative and accessible ways.
pvi believe that the idea dictates the form and have produced an eclectic body of work over the past two decades that are grounded in critical rigour, informed by collaborative research and the experience of the audience. Performances and interventions have included: locative mobile media games, bus tours, training videos, radio broadcasts, sticker campaigns, think-and-do tanks, privacy services, tug-of-war contests, live-action board games, fictional awards, community policing initiatives and environmental watchdogs. Pvi collective use play and dark humour to investigate timely, complex issues such as privacy, terrorism, climate justice, economic theory and the future of democracy.
IN DEVELOPMENT
booster is a new immersive role-playing adventure that aims to empower audience to conjure up a radically hopeful future and collectivise a pathway towards it. Audiences take to the streets and time-travel their way across global social movements experiencing moments of rupture and refusal that went on to change the world.
Set in a not too distant future, audiences join a fictional program of hope renewal [the booster protocol] and are charged with the task of transforming their own despair into hope. Logged in to the booster mobile app, audiences have three levels to complete, undertaking tasks and challenges that aim to disrupt their own feelings of anxiety and paralysis.
