The Substation produces a range of events across the full spectrum of the performing arts. The Substation's Performance Floor is a 260-seat flexible performance space ideally suited to the presentation of live music, cabaret, circus and theatre.

Featuring Perch Creek Family Band, Max Savage, Quarry Mountain Dead Rats

The Substation hosts the Wooden Music Festival!

Come on down and listen to some of the nation's best acoustic music, from bluegrass, to folk and gypsy swing! Adelaide's Max Savage will kick off the evening at 7.30pm. Followed by The Quarry Mountain Dead Rats, then The Perch Creek Family Jugband.

Chris Wilson & Shane O'Mara - Live at The Continental Revisited

Friday 7 & Saturday 8 June

It’s been nearly 20 years since the release of Chris Wilson’s iconic Live at The Continental album; one of Australia’s classic recordings. Now, over two very special nights, Chris Wilson will once again join forces with Shane O’Mara to revisit this album. These shows promise to both honour the original recordings of such classics as Rose Tattoo and Face in the Mirror, and offer new interpretations of some of Wilson’s finest songs.

Katie Noonan - Songbook

4 x ARIA award winner Katie Noonan's technical mastery and pure voice make her one of Australia's most versatile and beloved vocalists.

‘Songbook’ will see Katie exploring material from throughout her career including songs from George, Katie Noonan and the Captains, Elixir and her acclaimed solo album. This intimate solo performance mode is the perfect setting for Katie to revisit her most popular songs.

Ben Ottewell (Gomez)

Familiar to a faithful following as the most recognisable voice in Mercury Prize-winning Southport five-piece Gomez, Ben Ottewell appears at The Substation as part of his first-ever Australian solo tour.

Fans can expect Ottewell to play songs from his 2011 solo album Shapes & Shadows, classics from the Gomez catalogue plus his favourite covers.

Blizzard is a compelling and uncompromising physical performance that pays tribute to the resilience of the natural world in the face of human complacence and carelessness.

A choreography of tension and release - where energy is alternately hibernated and exhausted, this work is at once intimate and epic, exploring the relationship between three beings, their persistence against adversity and their commitment to hope in a vast and changing environment.
